Our journey: Honoring the past, forging the future

A lifetime commitment to service
Paula’s recognition with the Lifetime Presidential Award for over 4,000 volunteer hours isn’t just an achievement—it represents years of showing up, doing the work, and putting others first. That level of sustained dedication mirrors the commitment veterans respect and expect in a leader.

Deep involvement in the VFW community
As a lifetime VFW member and leader, Paula hasn’t just participated—she’s been actively engaged in strengthening the organization. From supporting Post activities to working alongside members, she understands the needs, traditions, and values of the VFW from the inside out.

Building meaningful relationships
One of Paulas defining strengths is her ability to connect with people. Through her VFW journey, she has built lasting relationships—turning acquaintances into lifelong friends and creating a sense of family within the organization. That ability to unite people is essential for strong Department leadership.
Paula's vision for the future
If elected Commander, Paula’s goals center around strengthening the foundation of the VFW while preparing it for the future—ensuring it remains a place of support, connection, and purpose for all veterans and their families.

Strengthening membership and retention
One of her top priorities is growing membership while also retaining current members. My hopes to create a more welcoming, inclusive environment where every member feels valued, heard, and motivated to stay actively involved.

Enhancing communication across the department
Paula aims to improve communication between Posts, Districts, and leadership. By encouraging involvement and open dialogue, she hopes to build stronger connections and ensure that everyone is working together toward common goals.

Expanding community outreach and visibility
She is committed to increasing the VFW’s presence in local communities—highlighting the incredible work being done, building partnerships, and attracting new supporters and members.
She will continue to be one of the contributors to department mascot VFWCA Chewy and VFW Rocks groups, expanding the VFW message via social media.
